Release time: Jun 16, 2023

When selecting a coolant or thermal fluid, it is advisable to verify that its physical and chemical properties ideally meet the following requirements:
(1)Within the operating temperature range, it should not solidify at low temperatures and should remain virtually free from decomposition at high temperatures;
(2) Non-toxic, odorless, environmentally friendly, and comfortable to operate;
(3) Chemically stable and inert, with no chemical reaction with the process materials, and no decomposition or oxidation within the operating temperature range;
(4) Non-corrosive to equipment and pipeline metals;
(5) High specific heat capacity, allowing for reduced flow rates when transferring a given amount of cooling capacity, resulting in high heat exchange efficiency;
(6) Low pour point and low kinematic viscosity at sub-zero temperatures, and reduced flow resistance, decreasing circulating pump power consumption, and saving energy;
(7) High thermal conductivity, reducing the required heat transfer area of the equipment and improving heat exchange efficiency;
(8) Higher boiling point than the process temperature of the system, except for pressurized systems;
(9) Readily available and cost-effective.
